THE BOAT

First let's talk about the platform. "The William Knorr" is a 34' Wayne Beal. It was designed by legendary designer Calvin Beal. These boats are often used as commercial fishing vessels and lobster boats. More and more you see people choosing them to build sportfishermen, for two basic reasons. The first one is they are very economical to operate, and if you check the other long beach island fishing boats you'll see our prices reflect that. Second, they have a full keel and a flat stern, so what you end up with is an exceptional ride, with minimum rocking when you're sitting idle fishing. And anyone who's fished on a Bertram for instance can tell you, the minute you stop running in any kind of decent seas, you better hold on. Because they have a steep deadrise and rock like hell. Same with almost every other factory built mass produced boat.

Now let's talk accomodations. The cockpit of the William Knorr is 12'-6" X 13'-0" because the hull is wide. This adds to the exceptional ride and stability, but also results in a more spacious cockpit so there's plenty of room for six anglers. The boat is Diesel Powered with heat and air conditioning. There's a 5KW Northern Lights generator to power a microwave, and coffee maker. There are 2 bunks below for overnight trips, and a full galley with hot and cold running water, plus an enclosed head. For big game fishing we have a fighting chair. Everything about this boat was designed for one specific purpose, raising fish and angler comfort.

Last but not least, Safety and fish finding equipment. The William Knorr is equipped with all the required coast guard safety gear including a USCG / SOLAS approved 8 man life raft, EPIRB, 2 VHS radios, Raymarine 48 mile Radar, Simrad Auto Pilot, Raymarine E120 color GPS Chart Plotter, Furuno FCV-292 Fish Finder, Sea Temp and Depth Indicators.
